- I haven't knit since Sunday and that was to rip out and re-knit a chunk of my sweater thanks to an evil dropped stitch :(
- We are hosting a party for friends on Saturday, our annual Frying O' Turkey, and I need to get our house cleaned up from the past week of wonderful visitors and not so wonderful "drop everything and run to the next thing" kind of week that we have had since the holiday.
- The laundry might be melding to the laundry area from my lack of attention to it.
- I am not even half way finished with shopping and making gifts for Christmas!
EEEEK!!!!!
However, in the words of many wise souls I am working on being mindful and present. I am working on not being hard on myself for feeling behind and remembering that it will all be done and the important things are not things at all of course but;
- The joy I will feel when I finally have the opportunity to knit a few rows.
- The wonderful friends that will warm our home and be happy to see us even if I haven't scrubbed every corner clean.
- That the sweet smell of clean laundry will soon waft through the house.
- That everyone on my list will feel special and loved not because of the gifts but because they are indeed special and loved!
What are some reminders you are giving yourself as things get busy this holiday season?
