Fiber Goodies and Green Things

This past weekend my mom and I enjoyed a day together at the Greencastle Fiber Event. There were just over one hundred vendors sharing their yarn, roving, fibers, tools and notions, and of course a few alpacas and bunnies too! I got a super cute 1930s patterned apron, four balls of yarns of alpaca, wool, and angora, and a few other little goodies. I also got a very basic drop spindle kit including the spindle and roving. I really hope I can figure it out since it looks like a cooler alternative to knitting in the middle of the summer.

This weekend I also decided to try cultivating a small container garden on our porch. We live in a bottom floor apartment with a small porch that faces the east. After some research and a million questions to people in the know, I decided to plant a tomato and a strawberry plant and then started seeds for basil, cilantro, and pumpkin. Once the herbs start to grow up some I plan to plant them in a box with rosemary and perhaps get a second box and add sage, thyme, and catnip for Macabean.

So, we shall see... updates to come!
