Green Things in the Garden - Phase I

First and foremost, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

In between calling our mothers and relaxing a little on this lazy Sunday, I moved some of the seedlings and plants into their new home on the patio garden, well, until I ran out of soil!

Today I was able to plant the sage, rosemary, thyme, tomatoes, cucumbers, and sweet peppers. Later this week once I get more soil, I will add jalapenos, basil, and catnip. I also need to rearrange some things to make sure everything gets plenty of sun and works on growing strong.

Along the same lines, the compost is coming along. It has been super wet here and I had been adding fairly moist scraps so I have been adding dry brown layers more frequently. It looks like things are coming along and it is a "good" smell and not a bad smell and while there some fruit flies and a few ants I think things are coming along well. Hopefully, this means I'll have a little good compost to add towards the end of the growing season to finish things off nicely and support the herbs when they move in for the winter.

While I am not a huge summer fan, I do love seeing the little green sprouts getting bigger and bigger and producing yummy things!
