I am joining Taryn of Wooly Moss Roots in celebrating a few things that I am so very thankful for.
This week and especially today for some reason, has felt rushed and like I need to accomplish and check things off my "to do" list so I am going to start my list by being thankful to Taryn for encouraging us to take time to reflect and be thankful for the beauty around us and for me slow down some :)
- I had a wonderful day yesterday with my husband and many of my Woodsie friends at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Homecoming! I will share more about my alma mater and what it means to me and my sisters of The Woods in the coming days (or at least attempt to give you a glimpse). In the meantime, know that every fiber of my being needed a little time at home in The Woods and I got it!!! :)
- On a related note, it was wonderful to stretch out and watch the soccer team's game yesterday in the sweet cool breeze of fall (rockin my new TOMS).
- Hugs! Seriously, I am a hugger and this week has had more good ones!
- Being able to participate in the naming of the School of Public Health where I earned my Master of Public Health a few short years ago.
- Finding a few yummy recipes that are not only "Erika Allergy Safe" but Shane approved! This week we are trying a few more that are not only safe bug meatless! (I might just turn Shane into a vegetarian...okay, maybe not but pretty close perhaps?!)
- Time with my mom after Homecoming yesterday sipping yummy beverages outside the local coffee shop I pretty much lived at in high school and college. The smell and taste of the place and a little chill time with Shane and my Mama were nice!
- The smell of clean laundry! I am catching up on laundry (big time) this week and enjoying the clean crisp smell of laundry drying! (Made even better by my homemade laundry soap... who knew the old fashioned stuff smelled so much better than the "new" stuff)?!
- The darkness of the evening coming earlier and earlier and staying later and later. So peaceful!
- The utility company came and staked out the utilities so I know where we can dig to plant our apple trees in a few weeks! Now to figure out where they will work best and order them!
- Time with my knitting needles... it has been so nice to have a few minutes to knit each day this past week!
What beautiful things have you been up to this week?!
